Characters:
Noel - A hero who was chosen by the God to save the kingdom from the Evil Empress. Fights with sword.
Ashley (Male) - A mage who fights alongside Noel.　Fights with magical staff.
Juliet (Female)- A priestess who fights alongside Noel.　Fights with magical tome.
Selene (Male)- Juliet’s tome that thinks and talks on his own.
Eleonora (Female) - An evil empress who aims to take over Fortraire.　Fights with magical staff.
Robert (Male) - Eleonora’s vassal.　Fights with sword.
Jack (Male) - Eleonora’s butler.　Fights with gun.
Bertrand (Male) - The current king of Fortraire.　Fights with sword.
Retainer (Female) – Bertrand’s servant.　
Young Man (Male) – A young man who lives by the Departure Street.
Servant (Female) – A low-ranked servant of the Evil Empress’s Force.　Disguised as Young Man’s girlfriend, Anne.　
Soldiers – Soldiers of the Evil Empress’s Force who appear in multiple scenes such as the Endless Plains and the Forest of Terror.　It is recommendable to have approx. 3 to 5 actors for this role, but the number is indefinite.　
Shaman (Female) – A shaman who protects the Forest of Terror.　Serves the Evil Empress’s Force.　Fights with magical tome.
Narrator – The narrator of this story.

◯ Palace of Fortraire / Audience Chamber

　 A chamber at the Palace with gorgeous decorations.
　 A king’s seat is set center-stage.
　 BERTRAND sits on the king’s seat, and RETAINER stands next to him.

NARRATOR (OFF-STAGE): Once upon a time, there was a large kingdom called Fortraire.　In Fortraire, many people lived happily and peacefully.
One day, however, an evil empress who plots to threaten the peace appeared.　Intending to take over the kingdom, the Evil Empress had stolen the “Conqueror’s Crystal”, a very precious treasure of Fortraire.
In deep sorrow, the king of Fortraire was looking for a hero, who can defeat the Evil Empress and bring back the Conqueror’s Crystal into his own hands.

　 Lights come up.
　 ASHLEY enters.　

ASHLEY: Your Majesty Royal Bertrand of Fortraire, it is an honor to have a chance to meet you.　My name is Ashley.
BERTRAND: Well, well, no need to be so formal.　After all, I am the one who invited you here.
ASHLEY: I’m grateful for your generosity, Your Majesty.　However, what made you summon a commoner like me today?
BERTRAND: As you know, Fortraire is currently facing a national crisis.
ASHLEY: The Evil Empress Eleonora… To make you say that, I suppose she must be a serious threat to our kingdom.
BERTRAND: She sure is.　But more than the Evil Empress herself, we must keep an eye on the Conqueror’s Crystal that she had stolen.　It is totally unacceptable for one with wicked heart to use that Crystal.
ASHLEY: Indeed, Your Majesty.
BERTRAND: So!　Today I invited you, one of the most skilled mages in this kingdom, to ask you a favor.
ASHLEY: What might that be?
BERTRAND: For Fortraire, and for the world--- I would like you to defeat the Evil Empress, and retrieve the Conqueror’s Crystal!
ASHLEY: W-wait, me?　Defeat the Evil Empress?
BERTRAND: Oh, don’t you worry!　Of course I will not send you on your own; I have gathered several others I can count on.　In fact, you’re the last one.　
ASHLEY: Oh, great, that’s a relief.　Then, I would accept your request with pleasure.　It’s an honor to be able to help the kingdom, Your Majesty.
BERTRAND: And I am nothing but thankful for your enthusiasm!　Well then, let me introduce you to your fellow members participating in this mission. Come on in.

　 JULIET and SELENE enter.

JULIET: Oh, so you must be the mage His Majesty had mentioned earlier!　My name is Juliet.　I hope we can be great team members.
ASHLEY: And I’m Ashley.　Nice to meet you.
BERTRAND: Juliet was sent to me with a recommendation of the National Church.　She is an extremely talented priestess.
ASHLEY: From the National Church?　Wow, you must be really strong!
JULIET: (Chuckling) Compared to Noel, I am nothing more than ordinary.
ASHLEY: Noel?　Who’s that?
JULIET: That is the name of the Hero, who will be leading us on this mission.
ASHLEY: Wow, the Hero…I wonder what kind of a person the Hero is.　I bet it’s going be a really cool, royal, brave---
SELENE: Well, you’re gonna find out the truth sooner or later.
ASHLEY: What!?　Ju-Juliet, your tome has just talked!
JULIET: Oh, I’m sorry for scarring you.　This is Selene, my magical tome.
